12 After removing the print head/paper stock guide rail assembly, loosen the three screws near the

gear and belt that secure the motor. Slide the motor forward (toward the gear) to decrease

tension on the belt. Remove the belt.

When reinstalling the belt after the platen has been replaced, make sure the tension on the belt is

not excessive. Pinch the belt with your fingers to ensure there is sufficient “play” in the belt.
